Common Kitty Critters
By CatAge Staff
More than just a nuisance, fleas can lead to tapeworms -- just one of the common feline conditions caused by this tiny critter.
Tapeworms are parasites that appear as white rice-like specs in feces or under your cat's tail and result from your cat eating raw meat or carrier fleas. Take a sample of your cat's feces to your vet for diagnosis and effective treatment. Make sure to use flea treatment formulated for cats and approved by your vet. And avoid over-the-counter treatments, which may cause undesirable side effects.
