Spring is in the Air

By CatAge Staff

As the days grow longer, many female cats will enter into one of several reproductive cycles and male cats will look for opportunities to mate.

To protect your cat's health and well-being, and to prevent an unplanned litter of kittens, be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered before 6 months of age. Cats who are not spayed or neutered and are allowed to roam outside are more likely to be involved in fights or become lost as they wander in search of a mate. In addition, they are at greater risk for reproductive problems, including infection and cancer. Finally, cats that are not spayed or neutered are more likely to exhibit undesirable behavior, such as yowling and spraying.
