Steppin' Out

By CatAge Staff

Contrary to popular belief, cats can be wonderful walking companions.

Initially, walking on a leash may not appeal to your cat, but with a little practice your pet will enjoy a stroll as much as you do. To begin, have her wear the leash indoors for short periods of time, gradually increasing to 20 minutes. When you think she's ready to venture out, walk in areas where you are unlikely to encounter other animals or noisy traffic. If your cat becomes anxious, cut the walk short and try again another day.
